The purpose of this site is for people to list their gently used or new items that they no longer have need of so that other people can take them free of charge! It is an opportunity for you and your family to get items that you may need without having to go out and buy them brand new and for you to bless others with the nice things you have but no longer need. This is NOT a place for you to get items to sell on eBay.com or elsewhere. You can, however, request an item to give to someone else.

You must register before posting an item or requesting an item. You should receive a confirmation e-mail shortly after registering. Due to e-mail filters of some providers, the confirmation e-mail may be sent to your junk mail folder or not show up at all. If you do not receive the e-mail within 24 hours, return to the site and attempt to log into your account with the username and password you entered upon registration. If this does not work, please send an e-mail to info@needittakeit.com and we will respond as soon as possible.

When you have an item to give away, please list it in the appropriate county and category and make the title of the post the exact item(s) you have to offer. In the body of your post, make sure to list more details about the item(s), why you're getting rid of it, your zipcode (so potential requesters know where they will have to go to get the item) and, if possible, include a picture (especially for items such as clothing, furniture, bedding, artwork, etc.). An item can be listed in a maximum of two categories. If the item is requested in one category, it must be noted in the post under the other category.

The first person to post on a listed item and request it will be the one who gets to receive the item. Pickup can then be arranged between the item lister and item requester. Pickup address details should be exchanged via e-mail. The person who requests the item must pick it up within three (3) days unless other options are agreed upon with the item lister. If you fail to pick the item up within three (3) days, the lister can make it available for someone else to request.

After a transaction is completed, the lister must state so in the item's listing so the thread can be locked.
